Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Gerontology Department and Çavdır Vocational School of Health Services Elderly Care Program students, with the participation of Akdeniz University Gerontology Department students, conducted a meaningful visit to the town of Bahadın in Yozgat province on May 31, 2025, as part of a social responsibility initiative.

The visit program was carried out under the academic guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Sütlü, Dr. Lecturer Ebru Akbaş, Lecturer Özge Kutlu, and Lecturer Nilüfer Korkmaz Yaylagül. As part of the event, students visited elderly individuals residing at the Bahadın Elderly Care Center and senior citizens living in the town; they had the opportunity to converse with the elderly, benefiting from their life experiences and strengthening intergenerational interaction.

This visit, conducted within the framework of field applications, which are an important part of gerontology education, contributed to the professional development of students while significantly supporting the elderly individuals socially.

The sincere interest, smiling faces, and hospitality shown by the staff of the Bahadın Elderly Care Center and the local community during the visit were met with satisfaction by the participants. In this context, we extend our thanks to all institutions and individuals who contributed.

As MAKÜ, our activities aimed at improving the quality of life of elderly individuals, supporting active aging, and training qualified human resources in the field of gerontology continue with determination.
