The White Coat Ceremony was organized by the Department of Gerontology at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Health Sciences. During the ceremony, students took a meaningful step in their educational journey by wearing their white coats, symbolizing their professional responsibilities. Prof. Dr. İsmail Tufan, the founder of the Department of Gerontology at Akdeniz University Faculty of Health Sciences, also attended the ceremony and gave a speech.
During the ceremony, which highlighted the role of gerontology education and gerontologists in supporting the quality of life of elderly individuals; the importance of respect for human dignity, commitment to ethical values, and awareness of professional responsibility was emphasized. It was stated that the white coats represent the responsibility of students to use the knowledge and skills they have acquired to support the health, independence, and social participation of elderly individuals. We wish our students, who experienced the excitement and pride of wearing their white coats, success in their educational lives.
