The Importance of Fascia in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Seminar was Held

The seminar titled “The Importance of Fascia in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation,” organized in collaboration with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and MAKÜ Physiotherapy Community, was held on February 16, 2026, between 13.00–16.00 at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Conference Hall.

The responsibility of the event was undertaken by MAKÜ Physiotherapy Community Academic Advisor Dr. Lecturer Mücahit ÖZTOP, while the seminar was presented by Dr. Physiotherapist Doğan Burak ENDAMLI. In the event, which aimed at education and was organized on a national scale, the importance of fascia in the field of rehabilitation was discussed in light of current scientific data.

In the first part of the program, which lasted approximately three hours, the anatomical, biomechanical, and clinical aspects of fascia were conveyed in a theoretical framework; in the second part, a practical fascial mobilization workshop was conducted. Additionally, the effects of fascial mobilization techniques on deep soft tissues were shown live with ultrasound, providing participants with advanced clinical practice examples.

The event was attended by 5 academic staff and 250 students from MAKÜ Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, 3 academic staff and 35 students from the Men's Health and Life Community within Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, 3 students from MAKÜ Health Sciences Institute Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Thesis Master's Program, and 5 participants from the private sector.

The seminar, conducted with intense participation and interaction, made a significant contribution to the sharing of current approaches to fascia in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and to the strengthening of academic collaboration.
